Gas mileage during trip to Americade. I decided to keep pretty detailed notes for when people ask what kind of mileage I get. Notice how much it varies depending on the type of riding. From a low of 33.35 mpg to a high of 47.44. A 1 1/2 hour run at 80mph gave 35.26 mpg where a similar amount of miles but at a complete mix of riding style was the 47. This is closer to my normal mileage when at home. Also note that riding around Americade involves higher elevation that normal for me and a LOT of uphill riding (of course there's an equal amount of downhill <G>)

Bike: 1997 1500A
Mods that would affect mileage: Windshield, coasters, DG Hardkrome Drag Pipes. No carb mods at all. Oh yeah... and my weight <G>

I guess it's safe to say that I average 40 mpg on trips. The last leg doesn't really count since I put the gas cap on crooked (oh oh, I didn't say that) and lost gas during that time.
